Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside company operating that tool for processing and results. Our site does not retain or record those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may retain a message sent by email long enough to respond and maintain the correspondence. It remains internal unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our systems automatically receive certain technical information when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is available
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's Internet Protocol address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies, which are small files placed on a device, help measure such patterns as popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into traffic reports. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how certain site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Measuring which material is useful and where improvements are needed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
- Routing a submitted query to the applicable search partner
- Operating the website reliably and efficiently
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We neither maintain nor compile or sell a personal criminal-record database. The site instead provides general access directions for MDSO, the Miami-Dade Clerk, County Corrections, FDLE Criminal Justice Information Services, and the Florida Sexual Offenders and Predators Search. Access and disclosure by those public custodians are governed by the Florida Public Records Law, chapter 119, Florida Statutes, and record-specific provisions such as section 943.053. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and we do not turn visitor information into a consumer report or outside criminal-history file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the site's search boxes. Their privacy policies, not this policy, govern information submitted through those tools, and each provider determines its own retention and disclosure rules. Read the applicable provider policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to MDSO pages, court systems, Florida agencies, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites for interest-based advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may nevertheless be available to:
- Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Search providers processing a query submitted through their tool
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, customary safeguards are used for collected information. No Internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Additional protections may arise under Florida law, including the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, chapter 501, Florida Statutes. Available requests include:
- Objecting to certain forms of processing
- Requesting deletion of your information
- Seeking correction of inaccurate data
- Asking for access to personal information we hold about you
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revision will be posted here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically for changes in our practices.
Effective date: July 17, 2026
